Here’s what’s in store beginning mid-May 2025
New Greens:
Enjoy smoother, more consistent greens designed for optimal play. For our new grass type, we will choose one that tolerates heat and humidity extremely well. We will also prioritize a high-density shoot growth pattern, which creates an excellent putting surface.
Greens Expansion:
Greens will be enlarged in order to bring back the integrity of Jack Nicklaus’ original design.
New Collars & Surrounds:
With the expansion of the greens, new collars will be installed.
Playability & Overall Enjoyment:
We’ll continue tree-limbing to improve playability and aesthetics across the course. This initiative opens up the layout for more enjoyable play and encourages better grass growth along the perimeter. In addition, targeted sodding on select holes will ensure pristine conditions, select cart path enhancements will provide for smoother transitions, and a practice green overhaul will provide a better representation of the putting surfaces on the course.
Our Design team is set to transform your clubhouse dining experience! A reimagined space with an updated coastal aesthetic, including new interiors and furniture, will create a welcoming environment for our Members and guests. This revitalized atmosphere will provide the perfect setting to enjoy great food and connect with friends and family.
Beautification of the Course: For those that enjoy playing at Golden Bear Golf Club, we are undertaking several initiatives to enhance the course and its surroundings. Improvements include tree trimming to improve sightlines and safety, sodding to rejuvenate worn areas of the course, and maintenance on the cart paths to ensure a smoother and more enjoyable playing experience. This work will be carried out without additional course closures.
